Tamil Film VISARANAI Enters in OSCAR – 89th Academy Awards 2017

Tamil film director Vetrimaran’s Visaranai has been selected as the official entry to 89th Academy Awards 2017 in the Foreign Language Film category. The film, based on police brutality, had bagged three National Film awards.

Visaranai, produced by South star Dhanush’s Wunderbar Productions, and based on M. Chandrakumar’s novel Lock Up, has already received accolades at the 72nd Venice Film Festival. The movie was chosen out of 29 contenders from India this year.

The 89th Academy Awards event is scheduled for in February 2017 in Los Angeles.
