Amitabh Bachchan Regrets For His Failure As A Politician - Still Friend To Gandhis

Indian megastar Amitabh Bachchan says he is not completely over from his regrets that he promised good days ached to the people of Allahabad as a politician at the time of election.

Today at the promotion of his upcoming movie Pink, he confessed that he went into politics to help his childhood friend Rajiv Gandhi. He promised a lot to the common people of Allahabad to gain the votes like any other politician and won the election by a huge margin in 1984.

But after 3 years he did quit politics to remain the same star in front of his fans. He confirmed that he is still the same family friend to Gandhi family.

 He said, "I mostly think of it because there are many promise that one makes during an election campaign, when you seek votes from people. My inability to keep those promises hurts. If there is anything that I regret then it is that, I made a lot of promises to the city of Allahabad and to its people but I wasn't able to fulfil them.

"I try to do whatever I can in any social capacity but I know it is something that people of Allahabad will always hold against me," Bachchan said.
